Small Business Spotlight: Brin's Bowtique

As the holiday season is approaching I like to use my blog as a platform to help promote small businesses. A few months back I featured Brin's Bowtique: a business that helps to inspire confidence in little girls by providing them with handmade tutus and accessories. Jessica Voisine, ower and operator of Brin's Bowtique, was kind enough to take some time out of her busy crafting schedule to answer some questions from Hippy Go Lucky Hoops about some of the new phases that her business is going through.

Hippy Go Lucky Hoops: As the year is winding down and you reflect on the past year of Brin's Bowtique, what stands out in your mind? Brin's Bowtique: This whole experience is truly humbling. The things that stick out the most is the over-whelming response and support from EVERYONE. Family, friends and strangers - they've all been so wonderful. And my favorite part and the part that sticks out the most is meeting all the "fans" and clients. The opportunity to interact with them through shows and small meetings reaffirms why I do what I do.

Perfect for gifts this holiday season!

Not just for girly girls!

Shop local this holiday season!
HGLH: It appears as though you have added a new member to your team! Tell us a little about her, how you guys met up, and what this means for B.B.
BB: Felicia Cyr recently joined me! She is absolutely wonderful to work with and is extremely talented. We work really well together and her addition is a great asset to BB. We met during high school when she was dating one of my friends (they're married now!) and kept in contact via Facebook over the years. She's married to her HS sweetheart and they have the most handsome little boy. Lots of new and exciting things are on the way. New products will debut after the holidays!

HGLH: You're always doing really fun contests, giveaways and games.
BB: The giveaways, contest and games are always a huge success! My favorites are Trivia and "Win-It Wednesday" They're my way of saying thank you for making BB a great success because in the end, BB would not be where it is today with out them! It's also another great way to interact with clients!

HGLH: You have expanded your territory to more than just Northern Maine. Where are some of the places you have shipped your products to?
BB: Yes! So exciting! I've shipped as far away as Hawaii and Alaska and many states in between. But, our next big feat is across the globe! My cousin and his wife are stationed in Japan on a Marine Corp Base and will be showing off BB to their friends! It is completely mind-blowing to think that BB with be in another country. It's a constant reminder of how amazing this all has been!

HGLH: What's coming up? Any craft fairs, holiday gift packages, or exciting new ventures?
BB: BUSY SEASON! We are starting our craft fair season on Nov. 23 and will have one each weekend until Dec. 7 We'll be in Frenchville, Fort Kent and Easton. We are currently offering a deal on shabby headbands which is a STEAL! They're absolutely adorable and perfect for any occasion. They normally retail for 3-4$ each but the deal is 12 for 18$ Over 50% off! It's a really big hit!
